EYEBROW MICROBLADING

Eyebrow Microblading, also known as cosmetic tattooing or micro-pigmentation, is a method of creating semi-permanent eyebrows, using delicate strokes drawn by hand to emulate natural hairs. This is achieved by implanting colour micro-pigment into the skin’s surface with a tiny, sterile, disposable needle. The results leave you with defined, natural-looking brows and give the illusion of fullness that will enhance your unique facial features.

Your first visit will allow us customize your experience with the right shape and shade for your skin tone. The touch up visit, which is between 6 weeks and 6 months after the initial appointment, allows us to see how the eyebrows have healed and to see how they are retaining colour. Further dimension is added as necessary.

Your microbladed brows can last 1 to 3 years depending on skin type, sun exposure and how you care for them.

PRIOR TO YOUR APPOINTMENT

The following precautions are recommended prior to your eyebrow microblading appointment:

  • Avoid the use of skin thinners such as Vitamin A, glycolic acids, exfoliation on the eyebrow area 2 weeks before your appointment.
  • Do not consume alcohol or caffeine for 24 hours prior to your appointment.
  • Avoid blood thinner medication and also vitamins and supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen, niacin and fish oil supplements.
  • Avoid sun and tanning beds for 30 days prior to and after your appointment.
  • The following cosmetic procedures should be prior to your appointment:
    • Botox or fillers: 6 weeks prior
    • Eyebrow waxing: 2 days prior
    • Eyebrow tinting: 1 week in advance

HEALING PROCESS

The complete healing process takes about 6 to 8 weeks; however, the visible top layer of skin should heal after 2 weeks.

After your eyebrow microblading procedure, minimal discomfort such as redness/tender skin may occur. The symptoms usually subside within 24 to 48 hours

3-5 days post treatment, your brow pigment will appear darker. This is normal, and your brows will lighten up in colour as they heal & once your skin has shed

During the healing period, minimal scabbing, flaking and dryness of the skin are normal after the first few days. To avoid loss of pigmentation, do not itch or remove scabs. They will naturally fall off on their own.

Not all eyebrow tattoos heal clean and crisp. Hair strokes for oilier skin types tend to heal more solid and powdery, while drier skin types heal more crisp and defined.

CARE FOR MICROBLADED BROWS

  • Carefully pat your microbladed brows with moistened wipes or cotton rounds before you go to bed. Apply thin layer of aftercare ointment with cotton swab.
  • Clean brows gently to 1-2 times per day.
  • Apply ointment 1-2 times per day or anytime brows feel tight and dry.

AVOID THE FOLLOWING DURING HEALING

  • Scratching or removal of scabs, dry skin/flakiness.
  • Direct water on the eyebrow tattoo and the use of cleansers, soaps and heavy creams.
  • Exercising, activities that will cause sweating for 10 days.
  • Swimming pools, hot tubs or steam rooms for 14 days.
  • UV exposure (including tanning booths).
  • Laser light therapy, as it can darken/lighten or distort the pigment.
  • Exfoliants, retinol acids or AHA’s on the area for 30 days after the appointment (causes premature fading).
  • Massages, facials or skin treatments.
  • Application of any brow makeup for 2 weeks
  • Vaseline, Neosporin and any other petroleum based products.

POLICY

The longevity and final results of your microbladed brows will depend very much on how you care for them during the healing process, and also the level of care you give them once healed. Dry skin types tend to retain colour and clarity of line more so than oilier skin types. A second session is highly recommended to achieve optimal results. Results cannot be guaranteed.

We understand that life and unforeseen situations arise. Please note that cancellations and/or changes to scheduled appointment date must be made  24 hours prior to your appointment.

Yearly touchups with Lesage Cosmetic Tattoo are also recommended.
